A "message" from Message - Support Our Troops Roll Out 28th of January, 2007

The Support Our Troops Roll Out, spearheaded by White Rock’s Clifford Grant, is scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 28, at the Sandpiper at East Beach, White Rock (15595 Marine Drive). 

The Mayor of White Rock, Judy Forster, is the MC for the event. She, along with the MLA, MP, and the Surrey Mayor will do the official Ribbon Cutting. There shall be music - live and CD, munchies, approved Support Our Troops items for sale (T shirts, golf shirts, lapel pins, ball caps, magnet sets, decals, and yellow bracelets.).

This is an opportunity to boost morale and conditions for 3500 Canadian Troops serving in Afghanistan or headed for front-line service there. It is hoped the Care Packages, novels and gift certificates will be shipped by March 15.

You may wish to bring approved items for the Care Packages:

-           hand wipes / wet wipes / toweletts from KFC

-           small tins of cocktail sausages (Vienna Sausage)

-           Lipton dry soup mix

-           fruit / energy bars

-           sunflower seeds

-           Kool-aid

-           band aids

-           medicated lip balm with SFP 15

-           tooth brushes / tooth paste

-           pocket size Kleenex

-           foot powder

We already have the 3500 double ply, soft, individually wrapped rolls of toilet paper, the 3500 packs of playing cards, and the pocket novels (courtesy The Rotary Club of White Rock). More toilet paper is always an option.

The invitation is to the residents of BC, and the participation is for all citizens. Our troops are there. We cannot pretend they are not... Let us show our fellow Canadians we are supporting them as individuals.
